Blog Anniversary Day 2 Home Tour

Welcome to my anniversary week.  This week I am sharing my home tour.  In case you missed yesterday's post I am sharing my home after Christmas because waaay back in 2006 I began my blog after I was introduced to blogging by Boo Mama when I found her 2006 Home Tour on December 26th.

Today we begin our tour at the front door.
 :
Welcoming you is this over sized stocking we bought last year at a resale shop.
When you open the door you step into a narrow entry way. Too narrow and long for anything pretty.
The living room is at the end of the entry.
But I'm not sharing it today! Sorry.  I'm sharing my favorite room!
 :
As we step through the living room to another door we are greeted by a sweet Moose celebrating the
'Mooseltoe Season'

And here's my favorite room.
 :
I am sorry this photo is so dark but the flash and the overhead lighting didn't agree with each other.
Here are some shots taken during the day!
 :
I share this chair by the door with two of our mooses.
The enjoy reading Christmas stories.
In the late afternoon I sit and read here when the weather is nice.
The only bad thing about my room is it isn't heated.
We hope to buy a faux fireplace heater.
 :
There is a table by the chair.  If it's chilly I can invite The Cowboy to join me for a cup of cocoa.
 :
We bought the mugs in Colorado before we were married.
My parents allowed him to go with us on vacation to meet my sister who lived in Denver at the time.
These are vintage.  Very old from 1977!
 :
We moved into our house in October.  We haven't been able to buy any furniture so we've used what we have.
This little wicker plant stand is perfect for a mini Christmas tree and a moose that sings.  It's a little hard to see but a few days ago I found a tiny Ty moose that had been our daughters.
It seems everywhere I look I see mooses.
The little fabric table cloth is just a fat quarter of fabric I pulled from my stash.  It had mooses and cabins and fit perfectly!
 :   :
More mooses hang out on our patio chairs.
 :
We don't have a bar or counter in the house so our stools came to this room.  We hope to buy a tall table for the chairs.
I brought the Cowboys fishing pools out to decorate the room.
This taller skinny tree was perfect for the space.
It is the tree from the living room last year.
But it was way to small.  It fits perfect in the cabin room.
And lastly I'll share with you my favorite part of the room.
 :
I've been collecting Santa photo's of the kids and grand kids just wanting to display them on a round table.
 :
The room is really pretty at night.
The little tree on the table my DIL made for my birthday a few years ago.
 :
Can you find the photo of The Cowboy?
 :
I hope you enjoyed day 1 of my tour.
Tomorrow I'll be showing our living room and gallery wall's.

I'd love for you to go over to the Giveaway and enter to win a Christmas them junk journal.

Frugal Friday

I love making everyday a holiday.  Any day can be a party day!

Finding fantastic deals can help make some special days.   I found some super cheap fantastic deals this week.  Here's a few . . .
           T:
Check out my super cheap .67 table runner!  It's actually dark Blue.  The flowers were part of a .99 bouquet I found at Sprouts last Saturday.  These pics were taken on Thursday!
The cool place mats were .67 too.  I bought a set for me and a set for my daughter for Christmas
          T:
Another pic with the super cheap .50 each ornaments for our
daughter and grandson.

If you look close you can see the price stickers I took off this . . .
          T:
I was so excited to find this super cool piece of wall art!
It is all metal!  I paid $10.00.  Super bargain.  Here's another shot...
                    T:
If you look really close you can see nuts in the boats.  The Cowboy was really impressed with this purchase.  It's sitting on the mantle now.   I've been wanting something all summer for the mantle.
I am so glad I was patient.

Today I found this at Kroger . . .
T:     T:
I've never attempted growing an orchid before but I figure for $1.00 I can try.  I cut all the spent blooms except the one.  The leaves are still really green so with a little luck I can keep it alive!  If not I have a $1.00 really cool pot.  I'm actually planning on going back tomorrow to see if they mark more down.  I'd like a group of 3 for the mantle.

The orchid did look pretty here . . .
T:

I wanted something pretty on the night stand.  But I don't think it would survive.  My new summer bedding is another bargain.  I bought a bed in a bag at Big Lots for $39.00 but I had a $10.00 coupon!  My new super frugal summer bed!

Since I shop cheap when I can then I have a few extra bucks for ...

                         T:
This is the rest of the .99 bouquet sitting in a vase with an ivy cutting that I got from a friend.  Free.  I like that!

So did you find any bargains this week? I'd love to hear about your bargains.  Write a post and invite me over and link at some of my favorite parties! (see my list on my parties page)

                  Let's make today a Holiday!

Does It Happen To You?

So I had this post planned to share with . . .
Tex.

And then it happened.  Blame it on Pinterest but I saw something I had to share Today!

You see I've had a long, frustrating couple of days.  Did you notice I didn't post yesterday.  Sorry!  Anyway I just need a little holiday cheer!

                                  Do you?

So I saw this and had to share because I am so going to do this!
I have never done it before!  Believe it or not!  Nope never!
As holiday driven and crafty as I am I've never made one of these...

What an adorable version of an Advent Calendar!
My first thought was I would make one here for me HeHe and my grandson.
But I had a better idea.  We'll make one for his house.  (I'll make one too. Because I have to have one!)  So the idea just kept
flowing and getting bigger and bigger until I realized what a cool
interactive New family tradition.

Here's the plan:
We'll collect all the items.  I love that they are simple Christmas decorations.  But we'll be collecting enough for three!
Yep I said three.  We're going to make a collection to send to my grand kids in Missouri.
Since these items are randomly hung on the calendar then each family can choose the item they want to hang that day and then . . .
Yep you've already guessed it!   Instagram!

Do you have grands living far away?
Try this idea to bring the family together!

Let me know what you think!
I'd love to hear your ideas Image result for comments  or
